Operations Finance Manager

Job summary

ViCentra is seeking an operations finance manager to partner with Operations, turning floor activity into reliable financial data for the company. You will own inventory valuation, COGS, overhead allocations and production cost forecasting for Kaleido devices.

You will manage standard costing, BOM and routing, run monthly production closes, explain variances, and coordinate with contract manufacturers to drive cost improvements while aligning KPIs with financial results.

Qualifications

• Inventory management, cost accounting, financial analysis and production planning knowledge.
• Experience with BOM/routing, variance analysis and cost forecasting.
• Familiarity with contract manufacturing and supplier cost management.
• Strong Excel skills and stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own inventory valuation, including excess and obsolescence provisions, and reconcile the inventory subledger to the general ledger
• Build the gross margin bridge and unit cost trajectory for the SLT and Board
• Own the standard cost model end to end: bill of materials, labour and overhead absorption rates, and the annual standard cost roll
• Run the monthly production close and explain variances by driver (price, usage, yield, labour, absorption, volume)
• Manage the financial interface with our contract manufacturing partner: transfer prices, invoice-to-standard reconciliation, tooling, and cost impact of engineering changes
• Translate the commercial sales plan into a supply and production plan, and from there into a driver-based production cost forecast
• Set up a consistent financial format for the PMO portfolio, covering business case, budget, spend to date, forecast to complete and benefit realisation
• Prepare and challenge investment appraisals for capacity expansion, cost-down and new product introduction projects

As an operations finance manager, you will be the financial partner who works closely with Operations, translating what occurs on the production floor into reliable figures for the entire company. You will be responsible for the complete financial overview of manufacturing our Kaleido devices, including cost of goods sold, overhead allocations, inventory valuation, and cost forecasting. This role combines cost accounting, operations FP&A, and project controlling, requiring you to provide consistent financial insights and link operational KPIs to financial data.

• 6 to 9 years of finance experience, most of it in cost accounting or production finance within a manufacturing environment
• Proven ownership of at least one cost improvement or capacity expansion programme
• Experience working with an external or contract manufacturer
• Strong technical command of standard costing, BOM and routing structures, variance analysis, inventory valuation and subledger to GL reconciliation
