Job summary

AIT Worldwide Logistics is seeking an Operations Agent to manage Contract Logistics customer accounts and act as the primary link between customers and warehouse operations in Amsterdam. You will ensure inventory visibility, accurate order processing, and coordinated transportation across multiple modes.

You will work with warehouse teams and internal stakeholders to translate customer requirements into actionable operational plans, deliver high service levels, and drive improvement

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Contract Logistics, warehousing, or transportation.
• MBO/HBO degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management processes.
• Understanding of transportation and freight management services.
• Experience in customer-facing logistics environments.
• Strong PC skills (Windows, Microsoft Office) preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills preferred.
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Experience with CargoWise and/or Extensiv preferred.
• Fluent oral and written English is a must; other European languages are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary operational point of contact for assigned Contract Logistics customers.
• Serve as the liaison between customers and warehouse operations.
• Build and strengthen customer relationships through proactive communication and service delivery.
• Coordinate inbound activities, inventory management, value-added services, and outbound shipments.
• Translate customer requirements into clear operational instructions for warehouse teams.
• Maintain inventory visibility and timely stock reports.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and shipment issues.
• Oversee the complete order management process from receipt to shipment.
• Monitor performance and communicate delays, risks, and corrective actions to customers.
• Prepare customer KPIs and Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs).
• Support review meetings with operational analysis and performance data.
• Coordinate transportation solutions including parcel, pallet, air, and ocean freight.
• Obtain quotations and prepare transport solutions based on customer needs.
• Support invoicing by ensuring activities are recorded and validated.
• Maintain customer-specific SOPs, rate sheets, and documentation.
• Assist onboarding of new customers and new services.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Overview

Responsible for managing assigned Contract Logistics customer accounts and serving as the primary point of contact for customers. You will act as the key operational link between customers and warehouse operations, ensuring effective communication, inventory visibility, accurate order processing, transportation coordination, invoicing support, and operational reporting.

You will be working closely with warehouse teams, transportation providers, and internal stakeholders, this role ensures that customer requirements are translated into operational execution while maintaining high service levels and customer satisfaction. The Operations Agent takes ownership of the complete customer lifecycle, including inventory management, order fulfillment, customer reporting, Monthly Business Review (MBR) preparation, transportation support, invoicing coordination, issue resolution, and proactive customer communication.

• Work closely with warehouse teams to coordinate inbound activities, inventory management, value-added services, order fulfillment, and outbound shipments;
• Ensure that customer priorities, requirements, and service expectations are translated into clear operational instructions for warehouse operations;
• Maintain inventory visibility and ensure that customer stock reports are accurate, complete, and distributed in a timely manner;
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shipment issues, customer complaints, and service-related inquiries;
• Coordinate and oversee the complete order management process, from order receipt through shipment;
• Monitor operational performance and proactively communicate updates, delays, risks, and corrective actions to customers;
• Prepare customer KPIs, operational performance reports, and Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs);
• Support customer review meetings by providing operational analysis, performance data, and improvement opportunities;
• Coordinate transportation solutions, including parcel, pallet, dedicated transport, courier, air freight, and ocean freight services;
• Obtain transportation quotations and prepare appropriate transport solutions based on customer requirements;
• Support invoicing processes by ensuring that all operational and billable activities are accurately recorded and validated;
• Maintain customer-specific work instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), rate sheets, and operational documentation;
• Support the onboarding of new customers and the implementation of new logistics services;
• Perform other duties as assigned by management and as required by business needs.
