Job summary

Nebius is seeking a Data Center Facilities Operations leader to build and lead the facilities operations across our data centers. This rare greenfield opportunity lets you hire the team, establish processes, and set the standard for how we operate and maintain critical infrastructure from the ground up.

You will sit within the Data Center organization alongside Construction and Design Engineering, report to senior leadership, and own reliability and uptime.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data center operations or critical facilities.
• 5+ years leading technical teams in a 24/7 environment.
• Hands-on knowledge of MEP systems: power, cooling, electrical distribution.
• Experience writing and implementing SOPs, MOPs, and maintenance programs.
• Ability to build processes from scratch in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Build, hire, and lead a team of facilities technicians and engineers for daily operation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems (UPS, generators, chillers, HVAC, electrical distribution)
• Develop and implement SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs; establish global standards
• Own site reliability and uptime; lead incident response, root-cause analyses, and post-incident reviews
• Define and track KPIs across safety, availability, and operational efficiency; report to senior leadership
• Partner with Construction and Design Engineering on commissioning of new sites and infrastructure projects
• Manage vendor relationships, maintenance contracts, and on-call schedules
• Drive continuous improvement—identify inefficiencies and fixes before problems arise
• Ensure compliance with ISO, SOC, ESG/sustainability requirements

The Role

We're looking for a Data Center Facilities Operations leader to build and lead the facilities operations function across our data centers. This is a rare greenfield opportunity — you'll hire and develop the team, establish the processes, and set the standard for how we operate and maintain our critical infrastructure from the ground up.

You'll sit within our Data Center organization alongside Construction and Design Engineering, and report directly to senior leadership. This is a hands‑on leadership role with real ownership and long‑term impact.

What You'll Do

• Build, hire, and lead a team of facilities technicians and engineers responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems (UPS, generators, chillers, HVAC, electrical distribution)
• Develop and implement all operational procedures — SOPs, MOPs, EOPs — and establish the standards we'll scale globally
• Own site reliability and uptime; lead incident response, root‑cause analyses, and post‑incident reviews
• Define and track KPIs across safety, availability, and operational efficiency; report findings to senior leadership
• Partner with Construction and Design Engineering on commissioning of new sites and infrastructure projects
• Manage vendor relationships, maintenance contracts, and on‑call schedules
• Drive continuous improvement — identifying inefficiencies and implementing fixes before they become problems
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards (ISO, SOC, ESG/sustainability requirements)

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years of experience in data center operations, critical facilities, or mission‑critical environments (power generation, industrial, military backgrounds also considered)
• 5+ years managing technical teams in a 24/7 operational environment
• Hands‑on knowledge of MEP systems: power (UPS, generators, switchgear), cooling (chillers, HVAC, CRAC units), and electrical distribution
• Experience writing and implementing SOPs, MOPs, and maintenance programs
• Comfortable building processes from scratch in a fast‑moving environment
• Strong communicator — able to work across engineering, construction, and executive stakeholders
• Familiarity with DCIM/CMMS tools and change management processes

Nice to Have

• PMP, Six Sigma, or PE certification
• Multi‑site or hyperscale data center experience
• Experience with commissioning new data center builds
