Job summary

Abacus Medicine Group is seeking an Operational Assistant based in Alkmaar to support our dynamic pharmaceutical environment. You will work closely with various teams to ensure operations run smoothly and medicines are available to patients across Europe.

Qualifications

• Experience in a production, logistics or pharmaceutical environment is considered an advantage.

About the Role

Are you someone who enjoys hands‑on work, has an eye for detail and likes supporting different teams to achieve a common goal? We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible Operational Assistant who enjoys working in a dynamic pharmaceutical environment and contributes to the smooth execution of our daily operational activities.

Team & Location

You will be based in Alkmaar and become part of the Operations department, reporting directly to the Senior Manager Operations. You will work closely together with the Operations team consisting of IHP Assistants, IHP Operators, Supply Chain Operators, Production Planners, the Team Lead Repackaging and the Supply Chain Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will provide broad operational support across multiple departments within Operations. A true all‑rounder who enjoys variety in work and is willing to support colleagues wherever needed. You play an important role in ensuring medicines are processed, packaged and distributed according to the highest quality standards. Your work directly contributes to making medicines available to patients across Europe.

Key Tasks

• Folding packaging materials and bundling them in the required quantities;
• Applying labels to packaging materials;
• Printing manufacturer information on cartons;
• Printing Falsified Medicines Directive (FMD) codes on finished goods outer cartons;
• Performing verification of inbound medicines in the warehouse in accordance with the FMD process;
• Supporting Production Planning by performing Version Control reporting activities;
• Supporting operators within the repackaging department with operational tasks;
• Working with the Videojet system and the slicer.

Qualifications

• MBO working and thinking level, preferably in logistics, production, engineering or a related field;
• Experience in a production, logistics or pharmaceutical environment is considered an advantage;
• A hands‑on mentality with the flexibility to support different teams and operational activities;
• A strong eye for detail, a quality‑focused mindset and the ability to follow procedures and work instructions accurately;
• Good communication and collaboration skills, basic technical affinity and the good command of Dutch and preferably English.
