Job summary
Mars Food & Nutrition in the Netherlands is seeking a Sustainability Open Innovation & Technology Leader to drive next-gen sustainable packaging. You will connect external innovation with internal priorities, identifying partners across startups, academia, and industry to translate advanced materials into scalable solutions.

Qualifications
- Degree in Packaging Science, Materials Science, Engineering, Sustainability, Food Science, or related field.
- 5+ years in Packaging R&D, Sustainability, Open Innovation, Materials Development, Packaging Technology, or related functions.
- Experience evaluating and implementing packaging innovations, new materials, or emerging technologies.
- Experience managing external innovation partnerships and supplier collaborations.
- Strong understanding of packaging materials, recyclability, circular economy principles, and sustainability trends.
Responsibilities
- Open Innovation & Technology Scouting: identify, assess, and prioritize emerging packaging technologies, materials, suppliers, startups, and research partners.
- Packaging Sustainability Innovation: lead the development of recyclable packaging solutions and materials.
- Partnership Development & External Collaboration: manage relationships with suppliers, startups, universities, and research institutes.
- Technology Development & Implementation: lead projects from opportunity identification to pilot validation and implementation.
