Job summary

Canvas, gelegen op de zevende verdieping van Volkshotel, zoekt een enthousiaste ontbijtkok met ervaring. Je werkt vroeg van 06:00 tot 14:30 en verzorgt het ontbijtbuffet voor gasten en hotelgasten. Ervaring met HACCP is een pluspunt en punctualiteit is essentieel.

Tijdens de dienst kun je genieten van gratis toegang tot de spa en korting op evenementen, kamers en horeca. Je hebt jaarlijks recht op een gratis overnachting en deelname aan wekelijkse yogalessen.

Qualifications

• Vroege dienst vereist en ontbijtbuffetervaring is een plus.
• Werkt volgens HACCP-richtlijnen.
• Verantwoordelijk en nauwkeurig.

Responsibilities

• Shift van 06:00 tot 14:30 en ontbijtbuffet voorbereiden.
• Buffet aanvullen van 07:00–11:00 voor hotelgasten.
• Voorbereidingen voor de volgende dag en inchecken van leveringen.
• Tot slot de keuken netjes achterlaten voor lunch.

Job description

Restaurant Canvas—located on the seventh floor of Volkshotel is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced breakfast chef. From early morning until late at night, Canvas is a destination for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and cocktails. A meeting place where a diverse mix of people come together. If you don’t mind an early start and view preparing an extensive daily breakfast buffet as an enjoyable challenge, then you might just be our newest colleague.

You are

• A morning person;
• An independent cook (breakfast cook experience is a plus);
• Familiar with working according to HACCP guidelines;
• Always punctual;
• Available from December on;
• Available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Here’s what your day looks like:

Your shift starts at 06:00. Within an hour, you get the kitchen up and running and prep all the fresh produce before the first guests arrive. Between 07:00 and 11:00, you ensure the buffet is well-stocked so that all guests (including hotel guests) can enjoy a delicious breakfast. From 11:00 to 14:30, you handle preparations for the next day, unpack deliveries and jump in to help wherever needed. By the time your shift ends at 14:30, the kitchen is spotless and ready for use and your colleagues take over for lunch. Want to unwind after your shift? Take a dip in the hot tubs or visit the sauna on the eighth floor—you can use these facilities for free. Not ready to go home yet? You don't have to be; as an employee, you get a discount on everything in the hotel (events, rooms, and food & drinks). Plus, all employees can join Volkshotel’s weekly yoga classes for free.

What we offer

This position entails a minimum of 24 hours per week. Salary is in accordance with the Horeca CAO scale 5 and is commensurate with your responsibilities. As a Volkshotel employee, you are entitled to a free overnight stay at the hotel once a year.
