Job summary

Mollie, Maastricht-based fintech, is hiring an AML & Fraud Analyst in our Onboarding domain to act as the first gatekeeper against financial crime, assessing risk for a diverse range of organizations and protecting Mollie's reputation.

You will balance regulatory compliance with a smooth customer experience, using independent judgment to interpret complex rules, verify identities, and map ownership structures.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English is required; Dutch is a plus.
• Background in Legal studies or a related field.
• Analytical approach to solving clearly defined problems.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment with limited information.
• Hands-on, detail-oriented and results-driven.
• Collaborative spirit with the ability to work independently within a team.

Your impact

As an AML & Fraud Analyst in our Onboarding domain, you serve as the initial gatekeeper in our fight against financial crime. You won't just be checking boxes; you will assess risks for a diverse range of organizations—from e-commerce businesses to foundations and governments—ensuring Mollie only partners with those who have good intentions. Your work directly protects our reputation and minimizes financial risk while enabling legitimate businesses to thrive.

You will strike a critical balance between strict regulatory compliance and a seamless customer experience. Using independent judgment, you will navigate complex regulations to ensure we remain compliant without creating unnecessary blockers for our merchants. By analyzing ownership structures and financial data, you help us run an efficient, secure platform that supports our merchants' growth.

What you’ll ship

• Conduct thorough risk assessments on various organizations during onboarding, event-driven reviews, and periodic reviews.
• Perform deep-dive due diligence to identify stakeholders, verify identities, and map out complex entity ownership structures.
• Analyze financial and non-financial information to validate merchant profiles, activities, and locations.
• Drive efficiency in customer communications by managing assigned queues and performing phone outreach to resolve inquiries effectively.
• Apply independent judgment to regulatory requirements, ensuring decisions are made quickly and accurately.
• Salary for this role is 3000 EUR including benefits.

What you’ll bring

• Fluency in English is necessary for this role. Fluency in Dutch language would be a plus.
• A background in Legal studies or a related academic field.
