Job summary

Design Build Search is seeking a Safety Advisor for a major construction project in Groningen, Netherlands. The role follows a 17/4 roster with weekends off and involves hands-on safety on site, including lifting, cranes and electrical works at a data centre.

You will implement the SMS, conduct risk assessments, draft method statements, and support site teams with EHS practices. Flights, accommodation and meal allowance are provided as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Third-level qualification in Environmental Health & Safety or related field (ideally honors).
• Experience on construction sites; hands-on safety advisor for electrical, cranes and heavy lifting works.
• Interest in long-term EHS career and ability to travel to Groningen on a 17/4 roster.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing the Safety Management System (SMS).
• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
• Prepare risk assessments, method statements and safety plans.
• Advise site management on Safe Plans of Action and toolbox talks.
• Carry out site inspections and audits under supervision and track corrective actions.
