Job summary

NTS Hengelo is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (NPI) to join the NPI team. You will ensure manufacturability and set up robust production processes for high-tech machining, interfacing with designers, operators, and project teams.

You will translate complex specs into practical production approaches, work on process optimization, and contribute to Design For Manufacturing discussions, ensuring stable, quality output across the production cycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's level in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or similar.
• Strong technical insight into manufacturability, tolerances, and metalworking.
• Affinity with or experience in a high-tech production environment, preferably machining.
• Knowledge of quality methods like SPC, CPK, PFMEA and root cause analysis is a plus.
• Analytical skills to translate design choices into process impact.
• Strong communication skills and ability to switch effectively between engineering and shop floor.
• Good command of Dutch language spoken and written for drawings, work instructions and shop floor communication.

Responsibilities

• Translating complex customer specifications into a technically manageable production approach.
• Setting up and optimizing production processes within high-tech machining.
• Preparing production-related documents, such as drawings and work instructions.
• Analyzing process data (SPC, CPK, machine performance) and initiating structural improvements.
• Working intensively with operators and production to continually improve manufacturability and process stability.
• Being the technical contact within NPI projects and co-responsible for predictable and quality-stable series production.
