Job summary

Barclay Simpson is seeking an experienced Internet Security Specialist to strengthen the security and resilience of a large-scale network environment. The role focuses on Internet security, network hygiene, BGP security, DDoS mitigation and monitoring.

You will work with internal teams and external industry organisations, investigating network abuse, improving security policies, and coordinating with partners such as RIPE NCC, M3AAWG and CableLabs to stay aligned with evolving standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in Internet security and network monitoring for large-scale environments.
• Background in managing security for global networks and ISPs.
• Knowledge of BGP, DNSSEC, RPKI, and DDoS mitigation.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Act as SME on Internet security, Network Hygiene, MANRS, BGP routing, DDoS mitigation and traffic analysis.
• Investigate and trace BGP hijacks, BGP leaks, DDoS attacks, malware and other network abuse.
• Review and improve security policies, standards and technical requirements in line with industry best practice.
• Identify security improvements and drive their implementation across network and operational teams.
• Collaborate with Security Operations, Network Engineering, Technology teams and external partners to improve security and incident response.
• Engage with RIPE NCC, M3AAWG and CableLabs to align with evolving Internet security standards.

A global technology company is looking for an experienced Internet Security Specialist to strengthen the security and resilience of its large-scale network environment. The role will focus on Internet security, network hygiene, BGP security, DDoS mitigation and monitoring, working closely with internal teams and external industry organisations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a subject matter expert on Internet security, Network Hygiene, MANRS, BGP routing, DDoS mitigation and traffic analysis.
• Investigate and trace BGP hijacks, BGP leaks, DDoS attacks, malware and other network abuse.
• Review and improve security policies, standards and technical requirements in line with industry best practice.
• Identify security improvements and drive their implementation across network and operational teams.
• Collaborate with Security Operations, Network Engineering, Technology teams and external partners to improve security and incident response.
• Engage with organisations such as RIPE NCC, M3AAWG and CableLabs to ensure alignment with evolving Internet security standards and best practices.

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong background in networking, security and monitoring, ideally within a large ISP or global network environment.
• Knowledge of BGP, RPKI, BCP38/84, DNS/DNSSEC, RIRs and Internet Routing Registries.
• Understanding of DDoS mitigation, BGP hijacking, network abuse and traffic analysis.
