Job summary

Virgin Media Business Ireland is seeking a senior security professional to protect Liberty Global’s tier-1 network. You will drive network hygiene, monitor security controls, and collaborate with global teams to implement best practices across ISP networks.

You will translate complex findings into risk-aware recommendations, mentor engineers, and support incident response with strong expertise in BGP, DDoS mitigation, and security analytics.

Qualifications

• Solid grasp of Networking, Security and Monitoring.
• Experience and expertise in securing large (ISP) networks.
• Familiarity with BCP38/84, RPKI, BGP routing controls and DNS/DNSSEC.
• Experience with incident response and presenting findings to teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an authority on Internet security topics like Network Hygiene, MANRS, DDoS mitigation, and BGP routing.
• Identify sources of BGP hijacks, leaks, and abuse traffic; translate findings into actionable risk insights.
• Collaborate with Global Security Operations Centre and external teams to set priorities for maximum security impact.
• Develop and hand over monitoring use cases and runbooks to incident response teams.
