Job summary

Hamilton Barnes is seeking a Network Engineer to architect, implement and maintain hybrid, private and public cloud network infrastructure. You will work hands-on with routing, switching, firewalls, WAFs, load balancers and wireless gear while collaborating with specialist engineers to ensure maximum uptime, security and automation.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in enterprise networking, a track record delivering scalable solutions, and is comfortable translating high‑level designs

Qualifications

• Fluent Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
• Solid understanding of routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, MPLS/VPLS, PBR, GSLB).
• Hands-on experience with firewalls, WAFs and load balancers.
• Wireless experience across Aruba, Fortinet and Ubiquiti.
• Some exposure to scripting and network automation.
• Ability to turn high-level designs into detailed configurations and LL diagrams.
• Willingness to pursue certifications (CCNP, NSE4/5, Aruba, F5, NetScaler, Azure).

Responsibilities

• Building, rolling out and maintaining advanced network environments.
• Configuring and supporting switches, routers, firewalls, WAFs, load balancers and wireless kit.
• Taking architectural designs and turning them into working technical solutions.
• Owning patching, lifecycle management and security hardening.
• Keeping an eye on network performance and fine-tuning where needed.
• Following ITIL-based processes and helping improve the way the team works.
• Coming up with new and creative network solutions for clients.

• Hands‑on experience with firewalls, WAFs and load balancers
• Wireless experience across vendors such as Aruba, Fortinet and Ubiquiti
• Some exposure to scripting and network automation
• The ability to take a high-level design and produce the detailed configuration and Visio documentation (LLD) to match
• Certifications such as CCNP, Fortinet NSE4/5, Aruba, F5, Citrix NetScaler, Azure AZ-700/AZ-900 or ITIL Foundation are a big plus, but a willingness to work towards them is just as welcome
