Job summary

Hamilton Barnes is seeking a Network Engineer for an independent role working daily with business clients. You will implement complex data centre, enterprise and infrastructure networks, manage servers, and provide 2nd/3rd line support for network issues.

The role requires 5+ years ICT experience, CCNA/CCNP (or equivalent), and fluency in Dutch and English. Travel across the Netherlands with occasional multi-day stays is expected. Hybrid working offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years as ICT Specialist or similar.
• Cisco CCNA/CCNP certification (or equivalent) required.
• Strong communication skills and customer-facing aptitude.
• Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written).
• Willingness to travel across the Netherlands with occasional multi-day assignments.

Responsibilities

• Implementing and managing complex data centre, enterprise and infrastructure networks.
• Server management.
• Acting as second- or third-line support for network-related issues.
• Designing and realising solutions together with clients and stakeholders.
• Staying up to date with the latest network and IP technologies, testing and applying them.
• Supporting frontline colleagues with complex cases.
• Experimenting with new technologies and brainstorming with colleagues to arrive at the best solutions.

Skills/Must Have

• At least 5 years of experience as an ICT Specialist.
• Cisco CCNA/CCNP certification or equivalent (other vendors also welcome).
• Strong communication skills.
• Ambitious, persuasive and solution-oriented.
• Dutch and English fluent, both spoken and written.
• Willing to travel throughout the Netherlands, with occasional hotel stays for multi-day assignments.
