Job summary

Nedap Beveiligingstechniek B.V. in Groenlo, Netherlands, is seeking a .NET Developer to contribute to Vision technology. You will expand our platform with scalable edge and cloud solutions processing sensor and video data to generate insights for farmers and visitors.

You will implement algorithms, work with a diverse, Agile team, and help maintain high-quality software with automated tests. Hybrid work with on-site campus presence is expected.

Qualifications

What are you going to do?

As a .NET Developer, you will contribute to the introduction of Vision technology. We are expanding our platform with smart, scalable solutions that help farmers monitor cows via video. We use in-house developed edge devices to receive and process raw sensor and video data, which is then processed in the cloud to generate actionable insights for farmers and farm visitors.

As a .NET Developer, you will develop various new (.NET) applications that together form the pipeline for converting raw sensor data into actionable insights. You will implement the algorithms developed by the Computer Vision Expert in your team.

Tech stack

The tech stack you will be using for development is partly for edge devices and partly for the cloud. The teams are at the forefront of adopting new technologies. In the cloud, it is not unusual for the first systems to be updated immediately on the day a new .NET version is released. The edge devices run a slimmed‑down version of Linux, where the apps you develop are hosted in a container. The cloud platform is hosted across multiple Azure regions, utilising a wide range of services. We have automated our software roll‑out both at the edge and in the cloud. The platform already processes millions of incoming messages daily, and the ambition is to see this grow exponentially in the coming years.

Your responsibilities

• Developing scalable and maintainable software components for edge and cloud environments, with a focus on performance and reliability.
• Everything you build is accompanied by automated tests.
• You ensure you have a clear understanding of what your application is doing and continuously improve it through ongoing insights.

Your team

As a .NET Developer you will be part of the “Vision Insights” team. Our Innovation team has developed a new technology, which you will take to the next stage in collaboration with your team and other teams. Your team consists of a Product Owner, a Computer Vision expert, two Software Engineers and a Data Engineer. The “Vision Insights” team is a multidisciplinary team focused on further developing computer vision algorithms, building and maintaining software applications, processing and managing data systems, and ensuring the quality and reliability of the system. You will collaborate closely with the Computer Vision Expert within the team, but will also be in frequent dialogue with other teams and disciplines within R&D. The teams focus on software for both dairy farmers and our global business partners. In this way, we strive to continuously improve life on the farm. The teams are multidisciplinary and work according to our Agile way of working. There is a continuous stream of new features based on our own insights and customer feedback.

The salary range for this role is between € 4.000 and € 5.500 gross per month based on full‑time employment (38 hours) and depends on relevant knowledge and experience. Required Skills

As a .NET Developer within the new “Vision Insights” team, it is important that you are not afraid to take the initiative. This role involves the launch and further development of a new product, which means we are breaking new ground. You should also be able to communicate easily and are skilled at coordinating efforts both within and outside the team. You take responsibility for your own work, but also feel a sense of responsibility for the success of your team.

• Experience: You have at least 5 years’ experience with object‑oriented programming (.NET and C#), test automation and application monitoring.
• Architecture experience: You also have experience in setting up application architecture.
• Preferred: It is a major advantage if you have experience/knowledge of: image processing, ONNX, and/or processing large data streams, OpenTelemetry and MQTT.
• Nice to have: Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Language skills: You have a good command of both Dutch and English, both spoken and written.

Good to know

You are available for 32–38 hours per week. Hybrid (remote) working is common at Nedap, and you can coordinate your working hours with your team to achieve a good work‑life balance. Ideally, you will be present at our campus in Groenlo at least three times a week.
