Job summary

ESA's Navigation Systems Definition Section at ESTEC in Noordwijk seeks a Navigation Systems Evolution Engineer to lead and provide expert technical support across PNT and geolocation domains, contributing to end-to-end system definitions for Earth and space applications.

The role requires a master's degree and several years of relevant experience, with the ability to work in international multidisciplinary teams. It is a fixed-term appointment with potential extension up to eight years.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in telecommunications, electronics, aerospace engineering or equivalent.
• Solid experience in GNSS/PNT systems and geolocation technologies.
• Experience with Galileo, deep-space navigation and governmental satellite systems.
• Ability to work in international multidisciplinary environments.
• Knowledge of PNT receiver techniques and signal processing.

Responsibilities

• Contribute, lead and/or provide expert technical support to ESA projects in PNT and geolocation across all project phases.
• Support the definition, design and development of PNT system evolutions and architecture.
• Support government and multi-domain satellite systems, including ERS/ERS SoS and related services.
• Participate in feasibility studies, project reviews and procurement evaluations.
• Define and perform internal R&D activities and develop technology roadmaps.
