Job summary

Telespazio Belgium, working at ESTEC in the Netherlands, seeks a Navigation System Engineer to contribute to Galileo system requirements and documentation. You will engage in international collaboration across security-clearance projects and support simulation and verification activities for the Galileo 2nd Generation.

The role requires expertise in GNSS, Galileo, and MBSE tools, plus strong programming in Matlab/Python/C++. A hybrid work setup and relocation support are offered.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in aerospace, telecommunications, cybersecurity or related field.
  • Knowledge of GNSS/Galileo space system engineering.
  • Strong programming skills in Matlab, Python and/or C++.
  • Experience with MBSE tools Capella/DOORS.
  • Eligible for EU security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the definition, analysis, and consolidation of system requirements for Galileo services.
  • Maintain segment requirements for Galileo Space and Ground Segments.
  • Develop simulators to verify documentation and size the Data Dissemination infrastructure.
  • Support system reviews with ESA, Galileo stakeholders and other contractors.
  • Prepare technical and contractual documentation (DCN/DCP, RFW/RFD, DDF, DJF, IRDs).

Telespazio Belgium has an on‑site service at ESTEC in the Netherlands, and we are looking for a highly skilled Navigation System Engineer to work there.

Candidates must be eligible for a security personal clearance from an EU Member State national security administration

What is expected from you:
  • Contribute to the definition, analysis, and consolidation of system requirements and their flow down to segments, focussing on Galileo services (as Open Service, Open Service Authentication, Public Regulated Service, Search and Rescue, ...).
  • Contribute to the definition and maintenance of segment requirements for both Galileo Space Segment and Galileo Ground Segment.
  • Support the development and design of simulators (SW) aimed in verifying compliance of technical documentation with the system concept, and to perform trade‑off analyses for sizing the Data Dissemination infrastructure of Galileo 2nd Generation system.
  • Support system reviews through projects’ lifecycle on system engineering aspects, interfacing with other contractor companies, ESA and Galileo stakeholders.
  • Elaboration of technical and contractual documentation (DCN/DCP, RFW/RFD, DDF, DJF, IRDs, etc) related to Galileo 2nd Generation.
  • Plan and follow tasks in a structured and pre‑agreed manner with managers and stakeholders.
  • Work in an international team and in cooperation with system engineering and security experts
What you offer:
  • Master’s degree in aerospace, telecommunications, cybersecurity or other related engineering and science disciplines.
  • Knowledge and experience in space system engineering applied to GNSS (preferably in Galileo).
  • Good programming skills in Matlab, Python and/or C++.
  • Basic Knowledge of requirements management processes and MBSE tools (e.g., Capella, DOORS).
  • Eligible for EU security clearance from their national security administration
Additional requirements (nice to have)
  • A Scaled Agile certification is considered an asset
  • PhD in relevant topic is considered an asset
  • Leadership and teamworking in a multi-industrial and multi-cultural environment

Where:
