Job summary

Damen Aquaculture & Fishing, a specialized unit within Damen Shipyards, is seeking a Naval Architect / Marine Engineer in Stellendam to translate customer needs into feasible vessel designs. You will work with the Sales team to craft tailored technical proposals and guide concepts through cost estimation to delivered solutions.

You will coordinate with R&D, engineering teams, suppliers, and regulatory authorities to ensure designs are technically feasible, commercially viable, and completed on

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Shipbuilding Engineering, Maritime Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related discipline.
• At least 3 years of ship design, naval architecture, or marine engineering experience.
• Strong communication in Dutch and English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain vessel designs using 3D CAD models and 2D drawings.
• Prepare functional descriptions and technical specifications for vessel systems.
• Design vessel structures with foundations for equipment and outfitting.
• Create construction plans, layouts, general arrangements, and technical diagrams.
• Perform weight, stability, strength, endurance, power, and performance calculations.
• Coordinate with internal/external stakeholders including R&D, suppliers, and regulators.
