Job summary

AMOLF invites motivated Master’s students to join a research internship on realizing multilevel switching metasurfaces for optical computing in Amsterdam. You will work on integrating phase change materials and exploring programmable optical devices.

The project combines simulations, cleanroom fabrication, and optical characterization in the lab; availability for 5+ months is expected, with longer options preferred, supervised by the Resonant Nanophotonics team at Amsterdam Science Park.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Master’s program in physics, chemistry, materials science, or related field.
• EU nationality or student at a Netherlands university.
• Internship must be a mandatory part of your curriculum.
• Available for at least 5 months; longer is preferable.

Responsibilities

• Investigate designs that enable multilevel switching using phase-change materials.
• Conduct simulations, cleanroom fabrication, and optical characterization as needed.
