Job summary

Rabobank is seeking a Transaction Monitoring Scenario Expert in Financial Economic Crime (FEC) to design and improve TM detection rules, applying ML/TF risk knowledge to protect customers and the bank. You will join the TM Control Standards team, collaborate with data scientists and compliance, and translate regulatory requirements into actionable rule design.

The role offers a hybrid work model in Utrecht, 36 hours per week, with a competitive gross monthly salary scale and a 13th month,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
• 5+ years direct working experience in FEC, with ML/TF knowledge.
• Knowledge of AML/CTF laws and retail banking regulations.
• Pragmatic mindset to translate ML/TF risk into TM rule design.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary squads with Data Scientists.
• Excellent English writing and speaking skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize TM rules using ML/TF risk expertise and data insights to improve risk detection, reduce false positives, and maintain regulatory compliance.
• Investigate and resolve complex TM issues through evidence-based problem solving and stakeholder engagement.
• Enable data-driven TM rule changes by assessing risk, performance metrics, and regulatory expectations, and presenting proposals to stakeholders.
