Job summary

NTS Drachten seeks a Wire EDM Operator to manufacture highly precise parts for semiconductor, analytical, and high‑tech markets. You will program Esprit, set up Fanuc/Sodick machines, and ensure accuracy to about 1 micron in small series.

You’ll join a small team in the EDM department, work in two shifts, and have room for growth and skills development in a hands-on environment that values craftsmanship and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Completed vocational education (MBO level 3) in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with machining operations (wire EDM, turning, or milling).
• Knowledge of machining strategies, feasibility, tools, and clamping techniques.
• Proactive team player, initiative, accuracy, and willingness to work rotating shifts.
• Good command of Dutch (speaking and writing) due to drawings and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate wire EDM machines (Fanuc and Sodick) for unique pieces and small series.
• Independently program in Esprit, selecting clamping and machining strategy.
• Monitor quality and dimensions during and after machining (accurate to ~1 micron).
• Collaborate with engineering and preparation to enable new products.
• Suggest improvements to existing production processes.
