Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is recruiting an (Associate) Scientist Microbiology for Leiden QC. The role focuses on microbiological testing and continuous improvement within a biotherapeutics manufacturing site.

You will contribute to method development/validation, troubleshooting, and data reporting, collaborating across teams to ensure regulatory compliance and high-quality release testing.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in Biochemistry, Microbiology or related field is required.
• A minimum of 6 years in the pharmaceutical industry within QC, with emphasis on microbiology.
• Regulatory GMP knowledge including FDA/EU guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Member of the Microbiology testing team within the QC department.
• Support microbiological testing for Drug Substance and Drug Product manufacturing; improve test methods.
• Plan resources and equipment for ongoing project activities; report to the QC Microbiological testing manager.
