Job summary

Bata Group is seeking a Designer for Men’s Footwear based in Amsterdam. The role focuses on developing seasonal collections, translating design direction into production-ready styles, and working under the Senior Designer with a strong emphasis on trend, materials, and consumer insight.

You will contribute sketches, technical specifications, and collaborate with Merchandising, Product Development, and Prototyping to ensure designs meet brand guidelines and market needs.

Qualifications

• 4 to 5 years' experience as a Designer within the footwear, fashion, or lifestyle environment, ideally with exposure to Men’s product.
• Solid technical design skills, including sketching and technical specification, with a working knowledge of materials and construction.
• Product and quality awareness with attention to detail, organization and rigor across the design and development process.
• Fashion sense and creativity with the ability to analyse, formalise and present design ideas.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop specific product families within the Men’s seasonal collection — styles and silhouettes.
• Produce sketches, technical drawings, and design specifications that translate collection direction into production-ready designs.
• Support the Senior Designer in drawing up the Men’s collection plan each season with sales insight.
• Liaise with stylists and modelists to ensure design intent from concept to production.
• Contribute to pricing and margin discussions to ensure commercial viability.
• Support trend monitoring and competitor studies relevant to Men’s footwear.
