Job summary

Peaks is seeking a Medior Risk & Compliance Officer to join our growing Dutch fintech scale-up in Amsterdam. You’ll own risk assessments, help shape controls, and ensure we stay compliant as we move fast.

You’ll work closely with the Head of R&C and business teams to monitor regulations (MiFID II, GDPR, AML/KYC) and translate them into practical actions. The role rewards hands-on problem solving, ownership, and clear communication across an international team.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of risk & compliance experience in financial services.
• Knowledge of Wft, MiFID II, AML/KYC, GDPR.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication in Dutch and English.
• Bonus: certification as a Risk and/or Compliance professional or CIPP-E.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be a key part of the Risk & Compliance team, supporting both the Head of R&C and business teams. Every day, you will:

You’ll be hands‑on, proactive and solution‑oriented to help Peaks remain in control and compliant at all times.

What we’re looking for

• Intermediate level: 3-7 years experience in financial services risk & compliance (experience in an investment firms is a bonus);
• Knowledge of financial regulations such as Wft, MiFID II, AML/KYC, EAA and GDPR;
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;
• A ‘getting things done’-mentality and the persistence to follow through;
• Clear written and verbal communication skills in both Dutch (fluent) and English;
• A proactive, solution-oriented mindset;
• Bonus: certification as a Risk and/or Compliance professional or CIPP-E (privacy).
