Job summary

Keylane in the Netherlands is seeking a Medior Java Software Engineer to join the Voluntary Choices team within our Development & Maintenance department. You will translate pension requirements into reliable software and collaborate with design and test engineers to deliver scalable solutions for millions of pension participants.

You will work in an agile Scrum environment, contribute to all ceremonies, write clean Java code, and help maintain quality while using AI-assisted tools.

Qualifications

• Experience with Java, Git, Gradle and SQL (DB2/PostgreSQL).
• Experience developing unit, integration and system tests.
• Comfortable in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Strong analytical skills with a collaborative mindset.
• Focus on software quality, performance and maintainability.
• Proficient in English.

Responsibilities

• Develop new functionality and improve Plexus components.
• Translate functional designs into high-quality software solutions.
• Participate in all Scrum activities (planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives).
• Design, develop and maintain software per architectural, quality and security standards.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested Java code with focus on performance and scalability.
• Create and maintain unit, integration and system tests.
• Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve defects.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and improve engineering practices.
• Keep technical documentation up to date.
