Keylane in the Netherlands is seeking a Medior Java Software Engineer to join the Voluntary Choices team within our Development & Maintenance department. You will translate pension requirements into reliable software and collaborate with design and test engineers to deliver scalable solutions for millions of pension participants.
You will work in an agile Scrum environment, contribute to all ceremonies, write clean Java code, and help maintain quality while using AI-assisted tools.

You will become part of the Voluntary Choices team, a cross‑functional Scrum team within our Development & Maintenance department. The team is distributed across the Netherlands and India and consists of design engineers, software engineers, and test engineers who work closely together to deliver high‑quality software.

Our solutions are used daily by pension providers in the Netherlands, Denmark and Norway and support business‑critical processes for millions of pension participants.
As a Medior Java Software Engineer, you will develop and maintain the functionality behind our Voluntary Choices domain within Plexus. Together with your Scrum team, you are responsible for translating complex pension legislation and customer requirements into reliable, maintainable and scalable software.
Working closely with design engineers and test engineers, you will build new functionality, improve existing processes and help ensure that pension providers can efficiently manage voluntary pension products for millions of participants.
We continuously invest in modern engineering practices. As part of your daily work, you’ll use AI‑assisted development tools such as Claude Code and OpenAI Code to support software design, implementation, refactoring and code reviews. These tools are embedded in our development workflow and help us improve productivity while maintaining high standards for code quality, maintainability and security.
