Job summary

Erasmus MC-Klinische Chemie in Rotterdam seeks a medior IT engineer to join a new multidisciplinary team focused on the development and administration of our research compute cluster for the analysis of complex biological data. You will build, test, and optimize the compute infrastructure.

You will work on an HPC environment with significant CPU and GPU capacity and the possibility to upscale to Cloud environments. You will grow step-by-step under guidance from experienced colleagues.

Qualifications

• Experience with HPC clusters and SLURM.
• Knowledge of GPU compute and high-performance storage.
• Familiarity with cloud environments and virtualization.

Responsibilities

• Participation in development and optimization of the HPC cluster.
• Monitoring, logging, and documentation to ensure quality, performance, and reliability.
• Collaborate with the senior IT engineer, researchers, and the Product Owner to realize new features.
• Optimization of the compute cluster, workloads, and storage for speed, efficiency, and cost control.
• Maintaining cluster (SLURM), servers, storage and virtual machines.
• Answering user questions and troubleshooting.
• Setting up and giving courses on HPC usage to scientists based on best practices.
