Overview

Medior Data Scientist, with strong Machine Learning Engineering skills, to join our Data Science E-commerce team at PostNL. You will not only develop impactful artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) models, but also ensure their robustness in production by contributing to pipeline automation, lifecycle management, and performance monitoring following MLOps best practices.

In this role, you'll directly impact our mission to become everyone’s favorite deliverer. You'll enable data-driven decision-making across the E-commerce department, working closely with data scientists in the team to deliver business value through advanced ML solutions.

This is your role

We are looking for a hands-on Medior Data Scientist with strong machine learning engineering skills to join our Data Science E-commerce team. You will develop AI/ML models and ensure their robustness in production by contributing to pipeline automation, lifecycle management, and performance monitoring following MLOps best practices.

You will play a key role in enabling data-driven decision-making across the E-commerce department, working closely with data scientists in the team. A salary between €4,521.00 and €6,402.00 gross per month (scale 11) based on a 37-hour workweek
Hybrid work with flexible hours; two or more days from home may yield €45 net per month

This Is what you bring

You bring hands-on machine learning experience and a proven track record of building and delivering end-to-end ML solutions. You likely identify with:

3+ years of work experience within Data Science/Machine Learning
Strong understanding of ML algorithms, model evaluation, and metric design
Experience working with large datasets using SQL, PySpark or Polars
Strong Python programming skills and modular code design
Experience containerizing and deploying ML workloads (e.g., Docker, SageMaker, Airflow, Metaflow, Kedro)
Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for ML
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Databricks
