Job summary

Amstel Hotel is seeking a hands-on Engineer to keep our historic five-star property running smoothly. You will diagnose and resolve malfunctions, perform preventive maintenance, and manage parts orders to support hotel operations.

Fluency in English is required (Dutch a plus). You will work on-site with occasional weekend shifts and participate in a 24/7 breakdown service rotation to ensure exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance/engineering experience.
• Fluent in English; Dutch language is a plus.

Engineer – Amstel Hotel

The Amstel Hotel is looking for a skilled and hands-on Engineer to keep our hotel running smoothly. If you thrive on solving technical issues and ensuring everything is in top condition, we'd love to meet you!

What is the role?

• Keep Everything Running: Diagnose and resolve malfunctions in equipment and installations.

• Repair & Maintain: Perform both simple and preventive maintenance work throughout the hotel, including minor painting and repair tasks.

• Manage Supplies: Place orders for technical department parts and materials as needed.

• Support Technical Projects: Assist in executing technical projects related to the hotel's operations.

• Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues and external parties to ensure smooth operations.

Your profile:

• Technical Mindset: Hands-on experience in maintenance or engineering.

• Proactive & Problem-Solving: You enjoy finding quick and effective solutions.

• Strong Communication Skills: You can communicate clearly and effectively in English (Dutch is a plus).

• Team-Oriented: Works well in a team while also taking initiative independently.

• Flexible Availability: Able to be on-site within 30 minutes for emergency service disruptions (future discussion), open to occasional weekend work and a 24/7 breakdown service rotation.

• Working Hours: Shifts are on weekdays between 08:00 and 16:00 / 09:00 – 17:00 or 10:00 /18:00
