Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific Eindhoven is offering an internship in the Mechatronics, Thermal & Dynamics Engineering team within TEM R&D to minimize vibration disturbances and predict their impact on imaging quality. You will develop and validate dynamic models, perform transmissibility measurements and modal analysis, and collaborate across mechanical, electrical, software, and dynamics disciplines.

Qualifications

• University student in the field of mechanical engineering, dynamics
• Additional work experience in this field is a plus.
• Experience in applied mechanics, FEM and material constitutive behavior is a plus
• Experience with software tools such as Matlab, Simulink, UX and ANSYS or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Create improved understanding of the transmission paths of the mechanical vibrations and the isolation thereof via dynamic models
• Verify these models via e.g. transmissibility measurements and (experimental) modal analysis on a representative test set-up
• Predict the impact of TMP vibrations on the image quality
• Collaborate with a team of engineers covering multiple competences (mechanical, electrical, software, dynamics)
