Job summary

AIM Solutions in Eindhoven is seeking an experienced mechatronics engineer to own the wafer stage, wafer handling, and focusing system in our precision metrology tool. You will bridge mechanics, electronics and software and become the in-house expert on precision motion.

You will integrate and tune subsystems with embedded and electrical engineers, develop handling and focusing capabilities, and characterize performance to drive design decisions in a fast-growing deep-tech startup.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in mechatronics or precision motion in high-tech equipment (5+ years preferred).
• Practical experience with precision stages, actuators and position sensors.
• Good knowledge of control engineering: feedback and feedforward control, system identification, loop shaping.
• Experience with commercial motion controllers and scripting them.
• Enjoy debugging across mechanics, electronics and software, and turn vague problems into repeatable tests.
• Full professional proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Integrate and tune the wafer stage and its control together with embedded engineers and electrical engineers
• Develop the wafer handling, from loading to alignment, together with the mechanical engineer
• Develop the focusing system and keep the wafer in the right place throughout a measurement
• Own the other active components in the system: actuators, sensors and their control
• Synchronize motion with the rest of the tool, together with the embedded and software engineers
• Characterize performance in the lab, such as accuracy, settling and drift, and turn the data into design decisions

The role

You own everything that moves in our tool. You are responsible for the wafer stage, the wafer handling and the focusing system, and for any other active component in the machine. You work between mechanics, electronics and software, and you become our in-house expert on precision motion.

You will:

• Integrate and tune the wafer stage and its control together with embedded engineers and electrical engineers
• Develop the wafer handling, from loading to alignment, together with the mechanical engineer
• Develop the focusing system and keep the wafer in the right place throughout a measurement
