Job summary

AIM Solutions, an Eindhoven-based deep-tech startup, is building inspection and metrology equipment for the semiconductor industry. The role owns all moving parts of the tool, including wafer stage, handling, and focusing system, bridging mechanics, electronics and software.

You will integrate and tune the wafer stage with embedded and electrical engineers, develop wafer handling, focusing, and synchronize motion with rest of the tool while turning lab measurements into design decisions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in mechatronics or precision motion in high-tech equipment (5+ years preferred).
• Practical experience with precision stages, actuators and position sensors.
• Good knowledge of control engineering: feedback and feedforward control, system identification, loop shaping.
• Experience with commercial motion controllers and scripting them.

Responsibilities

• Integrate and tune the wafer stage and its control together with embedded engineers and electrical engineers.
• Develop the wafer handling, from loading to alignment, together with the mechanical engineer.
• Develop the focusing system and keep the wafer in the right place throughout a measurement.
• Own the other active components in the system: actuators, sensors and their control.
• Synchronize motion with the rest of the tool, together with the embedded and software engineers.
• Characterize performance in the lab, such as accuracy, settling and drift, and turn the data into design decisions.
