Job summary

NRL seeks a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to drive a major international project in Leiden, South Holland. You will lead BoQ preparation, tendering, and contract management on a full-time, on-site basis.

The role requires proven experience on large-scale technical projects, strong procurement skills, and the ability to manage multiple packages while maintaining governance and risk controls. Leiden-based assignment with a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

  • Proven Mechanical Quantity Surveyor experience on large-scale technical projects.
  • Strong BoQ preparation and tendering procedures knowledge.
  • Experience with procurement governance and risk controls.
  • Ability to manage multiple procurement packages.
  • Available to work full-time on-site in Leiden.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee tendering activities and contract preparation.
  • Assemble accurate tender packages for submission.
  • Prepare BoQs and pricing documentation.
  • Administer the tender process from initial request to final recommendation.
  • Review submissions, evaluate proposals, and provide clear recommendations.
  • Conduct commercial negotiations during tender clarifications.
  • Produce tender evaluation reports and documentation for approval.
  • Assist with contract finalisation ensuring governance compliance.
  • Liaise with design teams to validate technical and commercial completeness.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.
  • Maintain audit trails and procurement documentation.
  • Administer supplier contracts during construction.

Job Title: Mechanical Quantity Surveyor

Summary: We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to join a major international project in Leiden, South Holland. This role is suited to professionals with expertise in procurement, cost control, and contract management who are ready to take responsibility for key commercial deliverables. With an initial 12-month, full-time on-site contract, this is an excellent opportunity to work on an industry-leading development.

Salary: €80–110 per hour

Location & Working Pattern: Leiden, South Holland, Netherlands. Full-time, on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Availability to work full-time on-site in Leiden
