Job summary

Amaris Consulting is seeking a Mechanical Development Consultant to embed in a high‑tech environment, delivering robust mechatronic designs from concept through production. You will own subsystems, drive manufacturing‑friendly solutions, and co‑design with software, electronics, and dynamics teams to ensure seamless integration.

The role requires 5–10 years in mechanical product development for complex systems, with strong 3D CAD experience and thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in mechanical product development for complex systems, preferably in regulated/high‑precision industries.
• Proven track record in mechanical design of mechatronic assemblies and mechanisms, with 3D modelling and 2D drawings for manufacturing.

Mechanical Development Consultant – Complex Mechatronic & High‑Precision Systems

As a consultant, you will be embedded in a high‑tech innovation environment, applying your mechanical engineering expertise to design, develop, integrate, and test innovative mechatronic systems.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of mechanical subsystems in complex mechatronic products, from concept design to production‑ready solutions
• Translate system requirements and architectures into robust, detailed mechanical designs suitable for volume manufacturing
• Lead the creation and maintenance of technical documentation (BOMs, assembly instructions, service manuals, engineering drawings) to industrial standards
• Work closely with software, electronics, dynamics, thermal, and systems engineers to ensure full integration of mechanical designs
• Support prototype build, integration, testing, and design validation, including design reviews and issue resolution
• Contribute to design‑for‑manufacturing and design‑for‑serviceability activities with suppliers and manufacturing engineering
• Act as a technical counterpart for internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring alignment on requirements, quality, and timelines

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
• 5–10 years of experience in mechanical product development for complex systems, preferably in aerospace/medical devices/ semiconductor, or other regulated/high‑precision industries
• Proven track record in mechanical design of mechatronic assemblies and mechanisms, including 3D modelling and 2D drawings for manufacturing
• Strong proficiency in Creo Parametric (3D CAD); experience with cabling/routing modules is a plus
• Solid understanding of mechanics, dynamics, thermal behavior, materials selection, tolerancing, and metrology
• Experience working within structured development processes (e.g. phase‑gate, V‑model) in an industrial environment
• Experience generating complete technical documentation packages (BOMs, assembly instructions, service manuals, drawings)
• Experience with PLM/PDM systems
• Experience in design for manufacturability and collaboration with suppliers on industrialization
