Job summary

Picnic Technologies is seeking a hands-on Mechanic responsible for maintaining and repairing our electric Goupil G4/G6 delivery vehicles. You will work on-site, perform diagnostics, and ensure vehicles are ready for daily routes across hubs in the Netherlands.

You will drive a mobile service van, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with teams nationwide. The role requires practical workshop experience and a valid B driving license.

Qualifications

• Completed MBO level 2/3/4 in automotive-related study or comparable work experience.
• Fluency in English required; fluency in Dutch preferred.
• Category B driving license.
• 3+ years of practical experience as a mechanic in a workshop or similar.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot issues and fix them hands-on.
• Drive your own route daily and set up shop at hubs from a mobile service van.
• Collaborate with teams across the Netherlands to keep vehicles ready for delivery.
• Carry out maintenance and repairs on site, repair cargo boxes, perform final checks, and keep paperwork in order.

Job description

At Picnic we have a fleet of 1800 vehicles (EPV’s as we call them) bring groceries to 45.000 families each day. As a Mechanic at Picnic you have a direct impact on making sure this is possible. We are the supermarket on wheels and our Mechanics make sure it stays that way!

Our vehicles are electric, but our Mechanics are very practical! We don’t use a laptop to find the issue; our Mechanics identify it ourselves. Unlike many modern vehicles, our vehicle still requires real hands-on work. Our EPVs are practical delivery vehicles that are used intensively every day, which means craftsmanship, mechanical knowledge and problem-solving are still big parts of the Mechanic job at Picnic.

You’ll be working on the Goupil G4 and G6: compact delivery vehicles that may look small, but work tirelessly every day to get groceries to our customers. These are vehicles with character, and our experienced mechanics ensure they are up and running each day.

The Tricks of the Trade

Problem solving: Troubleshooting issues with our vehicles and fixing them yourself.

Independence: Drive your own route everyday and set up shop at our hubs from your mobile service van.

Collaboration: Collaborate with teams across the Netherlands to ensure our vehicles are ready to deliver groceries to our customers.

Ownership: You’ll carry out maintenance and repairs on site, repair cargo boxes where necessary, perform your own final checks, and keep your paperwork in order.

About You

You have completed MBO level 2,3,4 in an Automotive-related study or comparable work experience

Fluency in English is required, fluency in Dutch is preferred

You are in possession of a category B driving license

You have 3+ years of practical experience as a mechanic in a workshop or similar
