Job summary

Impact Institute in Amsterdam is seeking a Marketing and Communication Intern to join our Marketing & Communication Team at the Amsterdam office. This role focuses on creating content, planning communications, and supporting campaigns across sustainability projects.

You will work with multiple departments, track performance, and help broaden our reach to financial institutions, investors, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • HBO/University degree required.
  • Background in communications, marketing, or sustainability preferred.
  • Strong written and spoken English and Dutch.

Would you like to use your communications and marketing skills as a force for good, working in an impact-driven organisation? At Impact Institute, we are looking for a motivatedMarketing and Communication Intern to join our Marketing & Communication Team at our Amsterdam office.

The objective of the Marketing & Communication team is to ensure that Impact Institute is positioned in the best way possible towards its key target groups, including financial institutions and investors, energy, real estate, and the food sector. We aim to showcase our impact expertise through completed projects, services and products, and draw the attention of a diverse group of external stakeholders, like businesses, media/press, NGOs, and public institutions.

Activities
  • In this role you will support the team with marketing & communication activities, mostly spending time on the following:
  • Content design and development: Create written and visual content/campaigns for company websites and social media and schedule posts
  • Communications planning: Research best practices and social media trends, and leverage these for the brand and employee advocacy
  • Stakeholder management: Get to know and supportthedifferent departments of the organisation (consulting, technology and education) in communication plans and briefings
  • Performance monitoring: Track analytics for the effectiveness and impact of our communications and continuously improve
  • Ad-hoc support:Jump on other marketing and communicationsactivities, from day-to-day tasks to strategy and execution of campaigns
Your profile

You are interested in learning more about the field of sustainability consulting, technology and impact measurement through the lens of marketing and communications. This is an ever-changing environment, so you will need to be open and flexible, eager to learn, and quick on your feet. It’s a place where you can develop a lot, there’s room for your ideas, with hands-on professional experience, where you get the opportunity to work on impact-first projects and campaigns.

Requirements
  • HBO/Universitydegree(Bachelorrequired)
  • Relevantbackground (courseworkor experienceincommunications,marketing, new media, journalism, sustainability, politics, business, or a similar field)
  • Affinity with sustainable development,social enterprise,business consulting, marketing and communications and the ability to think across industries and sectors
  • If you have some experience with working in a B2B setting, on social media or digital marketing, that’s a plus but not a hard requirement
  • Fast learner(take on feedback),flexible(things change quickly around here),accurate(eye for detail), creative(you enjoy ideating and making things), and organised (you have a structured way of working)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Dutch
  • Basic knowledge of WordPress, Hubspot, Canva, and/or Adobe Creative Suiteis a plus

Please note that your application will only be considered if you are enrolled at a school or university for the full duration of the internship. Additionally, to comply with Dutch law, one of the following must apply:

  • You are an EU citizen,
  • You are on a Family/Partner visa, or
  • You are a non-EU student studying in the Netherlands, and you meet at least one of the following requirements: (1) The internship is a mandatory part of your curriculum, OR (2) your university is willing to sign a third-party agreement (Nuffic Agreement).
