Job summary

Elsevier is seeking an Analytics Engineer to build trusted data foundations behind our dashboards and AI products. You will design dbt models, define metrics, and ensure data quality so marketers can rely on the numbers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building and running production data and analytics systems.
• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Solid dbt experience: modelling, testing, macros and a semantic/metric layer.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs/AI agents in production.
• Good engineering habits: version control, testing, CI, documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the dbt models and semantic layer behind dashboards and AI products, with tests and lineage.
• Build and run AI agents for marketing on Snowflake and dbt layer, and help define the architecture roadmap.
• Create an evaluation approach with standard questions and regression checks before releases.
• Set up UAT environment and a repeatable path to production.
• Collaborate with Data Ops and marketers to understand decisions needed.
• Document as you build to enable maintenance and knowledge sharing.
