Job summary

Mr. Marine is seeking a Service Engineer (BWTS) to service ballast water treatment systems on sea-going vessels. You will perform maintenance, testing, and repairs on-site, ensuring compliance with IMO and USCG requirements.

Qualifications

• BWTS knowledge including UV treatment, electro-chlorination, etc.
• Experience with commissioning BWTS in field service.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
• Familiarity with IMO BWMS Code and safety rules for marine processes.
• Knowledge of industry standards and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance of BWTS components including filtration units, UV reactors, electrolysis systems and control panels.
• Ensure operation meets IMO/USCG regulations and standards.
• Test, validate, and suggest improvements to systems.
• Calibrate instruments for accuracy.
• Troubleshoot, repair and upgrade systems as needed.
• Provide remote and on-site technical support to crews and operators.
• Maintain detailed service records and parts usage.
• Collaborate with project management and specialists to plan jobs.
