MSIG Specialty Marine is looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Underwriter to become an essential part of our P&I Underwriting team. In this role, you will provide key support for the underwriting process and contribute to excellent customer service, smooth operations, and impactful results.

Your Role and Impact

As an Assistant Underwriter, you will work alongside experienced underwriters and perform important administrative tasks, allowing them to focus on strategic underwriting. You will assist in managing new and renewed contracts, approvals, and cancellations to ensure the underwriting process runs seamlessly and efficiently. By applying a “first time right” approach, you will help deliver exceptional service and uphold our high standards.

Key Responsibilities

Underwriting Support:

• Process new policies, renewals, approvals, and cancellations accurately and efficiently.
• Assist in preparing quotes, screening clients, and using technical pricing models.
• Maintain essential documentation and liaise with brokers to ensure smooth communication.
• Support technical pricing administration and compliance-related queries.
• Keep underwriting systems up-to-date and documentation well-organized.
  
  

Client Relationships & Excellent Service

• Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients.
• Handle client queries professionally, delivering high-quality and personalized service.
  
  

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Perform data analysis to identify trends and insights in underwriting submissions and claims.
• Contribute to insightful underwriting reports and analyses.
• Monitor premium payments and underwriting performance to support optimized results.
  
  

Team Collaboration & Organizational Support

• Participate in knowledge sharing and company-wide projects.
• Facilitate smooth communication across departments and assist in resolving issues effectively.
• Provide support for daily operational needs to strengthen the Underwriting team.
