Job summary

HQ Plastics is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to translate customer requirements into robust and efficient manufacturing processes. You will connect customers, engineering and production, reviewing documentation, calculating costs, and preparing production packs for CNC machining, plastic welding and mechanical assembly.

You will drive continuous improvement, define tooling and strategies, and collaborate with CNC programmers, machinists and assembly teams to ensure quality and repeatability

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate customer drawings, specifications and documentation for manufacturability and quality requirements
  • Develop, validate and optimize manufacturing processes for new and existing products
  • Prepare accurate cost calculations and support quotation activities
  • Create work instructions, process documentation and production plans
  • Convert customer requirements into complete production packages within the ERP system
  • Support prototype and first article production runs and resolve technical challenges
  • Define tooling, machining strategies and manufacturing methods
  • Create and maintain measurement reports, tolerances and quality requirements
  • Analyze production and quality data to improve efficiency, consistency and product quality
  • Collaborate closely with CNC programmers, machinists, plastic welders and assembly teams
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction and operational excellence
  • Contribute to Lean manufacturing, 5S and continuous improvement initiatives

Job description

At HQ Plastics, we manufacture high-precision plastic components and assemblies for demanding industries where quality, reliability and repeatability are essential. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you play a key role in translating customer requirements into robust and efficient manufacturing processes. You act as the technical link between the customer, engineering and production. From reviewing customer documentation and calculating manufacturing costs to preparing production orders and optimizing workflows, you ensure every product is set up for successful production. This role combines technical work preparation, process engineering and continuous improvement within a modern manufacturing environment focused on CNC machining, plastic welding and mechanical assembly.

Your Responsibilities
