Job summary

Join Ahold Delhaize as Manager Deputy Data Protection Officer (D-DPO) to oversee GDPR compliance and privacy controls across Europe. You will work with the Group DPO, brand privacy leads, and risk teams to ensure alignment with group standards and regulatory requirements.

This role drives DPIA reviews, privacy risk assessments, and ongoing monitoring, supporting a culture of accountability and ethical data handling across brands. Hybrid work from Zaandam with office presence is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Information Security, or related field.
• CIPP/E, CIPM, or equivalent privacy certification preferred.
• At least 4 years of experience in data protection, privacy compliance, or a related role.
• Working knowledge of GDPR and other relevant data protection regulations.
• Experience supporting or conducting DPIAs and privacy risk assessments.
• Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.

• Act as the primary point of contact for European brands on routine DPIA reviews and privacy risk assessments.

As Manager Deputy Data Protection Officer (D-DPO), you will help ensure that Ahold Delhaize’s brands consistently meet GDPR requirements and group data protection standards while supporting a culture of accountability and ethical data handling. This role is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of data protection policies, procedures, and controls, and acts as the primary point of contact for European brands on routine DPIA reviews. The D-DPO will help maintain a culture of compliance, support the management of data protection risks, and ensure that all brands consistently meet group minimum standards.

Your new team

As Manager Deputy Data Protection Officer, you will be joining our Group Data Protection team. You will work closely with the Group Data Protection Officer, brand privacy leads, legal counsel, risk and compliance teams, and business stakeholders across Europe to strengthen data protection practices and ensure compliance with GDPR and related regulations.

Key focus areas of your role

Your role is highly diverse and encompasses various responsibilities. Here are the key ones:

• Implement and maintain the Group GDPR compliance framework, including policies, procedures, controls, records of processing activities, and privacy awareness initiatives.
• Act as the primary point of contact for European brands on routine DPIA reviews and privacy risk assessments, ensuring alignment with group standards and regulatory requirements.
• Support monitoring and assurance activities, including compliance reviews, KPI reporting, identification of improvement opportunities, and quarterly reporting to the Group GRC Committee.
• Assist in the evaluation of brand compliance and the identification of areas for improvement
• Support the DPO in monitoring brand compliance with the data protection control framework.

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Law, Information Security, or a related field.
• CIPP/E, CIPM, or equivalent privacy certification preferred.
• At least 4 years of experience in data protection, privacy compliance, or a related legal/compliance role.
• Working knowledge of GDPR and other relevant data protection regulations.
• Experience supporting or conducting DPIAs and privacy risk assessments.
• Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
