Human Resources Manager
Join Dole Packaged Foods, an agricultural company dedicated to nourishing the world and building sustainable, high‑quality food products. We are looking for an HR Manager to shape, grow, and professionalise our European HR function.
Primary Accountabilities
You are responsible for supporting the entire European workforce, consisting of approximately 30–35 employees located in the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Belgium, France, and Germany. You have one direct report (HR Business Partner / Office Manager), and together you are responsible for all HR, payroll, office management and employee safety & wellbeing processes.
- Act as trusted HR advisor to the Managing Director and European leadership team.
- Translate business strategy into pragmatic, scalable HR priorities.
- Lead, coach, and develop the HR Business Partner / Office Manager.
- Shape and safeguard company culture, values, and ways of working.
- Collaborate closely with the Global HR function to align on policies, frameworks, and initiatives.
HR Operations & Governance
- Accountable for and continuously improve HR policies, processes, and frameworks across Europe, aligned with global and local standards.
- Ensure compliance with Dutch labour law and relevant UK, Belgian, French, and German employment regulations.
- Oversee the full employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, performance, development, and off‑boarding.
- Act as escalation point for complex employee relations matters.
Talent, Performance & Development
- Oversee recruitment and onboarding in collaboration with hiring managers and Global HR where applicable.
- Drive performance management, appraisal cycles, and personal development planning.
- Support leadership in talent development, succession planning, and retention.
- Promote employee engagement, well‑being, and inclusion initiatives aligned with global programs.
Payroll & External Provider Management
- Manage and coordinate the outsourced payroll provider across multiple European countries.
- Act as point of accountability for payroll accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Review payroll outputs, identify discrepancies, and ensure timely resolution.
- Coordinate payroll inputs with internal stakeholders, Global HR, and external providers.
- Ensure payroll processes are documented, controlled, and scalable.
- Support organisational growth, restructuring, and change initiatives in collaboration with Global HR and the European Leadership team.
- Identify HR and people‑related risks early and address them pragmatically.
- Improve HR reporting, data quality, and management insights.
- Ensure European HR practices remain fit‑for‑purpose while aligned with global direction.

What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Passionate about a purpose‑driven career in nutrition and wellness, with a Continuous Improvement "N+1" mindset.
- Live and breathe HR and people management; great communicator, listener, and able to translate people needs into HR propositions and policies.
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Native speaker in Dutch (hard requirement) and fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Master or Bachelor degree in Human Resources or Business Administration.
- 5+ years of experience in a comparable HR Manager or senior HR role.
- Experience working with outsourced payroll providers in a multi‑country environment.
- Solid working knowledge of Dutch labour law; international HR exposure strongly preferred.
- Experience operating within a global corporate structure.
- Able to operate independently and prioritise effectively in a part‑time role.
Location
- Based in the Netherlands (within the wider Rotterdam area). Work from both a home office and the Rotterdam office.

- Part‑time (0.6 FTE / 24 hours per week) contract with an annual base salary proportionate to a full‑time equivalent salary between €70,000 – €90,000.
