Job summary

EY Netherlands is seeking a Manager in the Operational Tax (CTORS) team to lead complex engagements, translating tax transparency and regulatory requirements into robust operating models and technology-enabled solutions. You will advise senior stakeholders across banks, insurers, asset managers and FinTechs while growing the practice and mentoring junior colleagues.

The role is based in Amsterdam with hybrid working options and a strong commitment to leadership development and client impact.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree (WO) in Tax Law or Finance (or closely related discipline).
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in tax transparency, operational tax, regulatory reporting, compliance, consulting or a related role.
  • English language skills; Dutch language skills are a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead client engagements from scoping through delivery, managing timelines, budgets and quality across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Advise clients on tax transparency regimes and design robust, future-proof compliance processes and controls.
  • Translate regulation into operating models and requirements for data, processes and systems; partner with technology colleagues to implement practical solutions and support regulatory change programs.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships with clients, the Dutch Tax Authority and other relevant parties; support governance, documentation and audit readiness.
  • Develop our practice by contributing to propositions and thought leadership, coaching junior colleagues, and supporting business development in Financial Services, digital platforms and crypto transparency.

Your new job | About your main responsibilities
As a Manager within EY’s Operational Tax (CTORS) team, you will help Financial Services clients navigate fast-evolving tax transparency and operational reporting requirements. You will lead complex engagements, translate regulation into pragmatic operating models and technology-enabled solutions, and act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across banks, insurers, asset managers, investment funds, (emerging) payment service providers, FinTechs and pension funds. You will also contribute to our growing work at the intersection of tax and technology, including digital platforms (e.g., DAC7) and the expanding transparency landscape for crypto assets (e.g., OECD CARF, DAC8 and related national initiatives). You will also support clients on the Qualified Intermediary (QI) regime, US withholding tax, withholding tax reclaims and FASTER, translating requirements into robust end-to-end processes, documentation and control frameworks.
