Job summary

EY is looking for a Finance Transformation Consultant to join the Amsterdam team. You’ll advise CFOs on the future of their Finance function, support large transformation programs, and help make finance more data-driven across multiple projects and geographies.

You’ll work in a multidisciplinary team, combining communication, storytelling, analytical and project management skills, with opportunities for growth and international exposure.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field (Digital Business, Finance, Accounting or Controlling)
• 1–2 years experience in a Finance role welcomed
• Strong interest in Digital Finance and process improvement

Responsibilities

Your new job | About your main responsibilities

As a Finance Transformation Consultant, you’ll be part of the Business Consulting Finance Team. Within this team, we advise CFOs of mainly multinationals, but also mid-market or start-ups, on the future of their Finance function and support them during large transformation programs. For example, in their journey of becoming ever more data-driven, we help our clients accelerate by exploring opportunities that emerging technologies such as GenAI and ML bring to the Finance and Finance Analytics space. Next to that, think about advising CFOs on optimal steering information, improving clients’ financial planning and analysis capabilities, realizing a new organizational model, or implementing improved Finance processes and technologies. Furthermore, projects focusing on sustainable Finance and long-term value get more and more attention. In short, we advise on a broad range of topics that are sky high on the CFO agenda and that our BC Finance team is passionate about.

As a Consultant you understand the complex problems our clients face in this rapidly changing environment. Within a multidisciplinary team, you are contributing to key topics that are important to CFOs by:

• Dealing with topics and changes impactful to both the industry and society
• Owning the topics on the CFO agenda, to contribute to a better working world
• Doing project-based work in a team and express your ideas on how to help clients improve
• Working in teams and at the same time working independently; at our EY office, at our clients’ offices and remote from home
• Building, maintaining and strengthening internal and external relationships
• Working across multiple projects and geographies in a dynamic and diverse working environment with colleagues from our global EY network

Your skills and strengths | About your unique contribution

You are completing or have recently completed a university Master’s degree in (Digital) Business, (Business/Financial) Economics, Finance, Accounting and Controlling, or a related field

Candidates with 1-2 years of relevant working experience (mid-market and multinationals) in a Finance role are also welcomed to respond

You have a strong interest in (Digital) Finance and Finance process improvement and the desire to obtain knowledge in the field of Finance, digital enablers and improving the Finance function

To give examples, you have a clear interest in one or more of the following areas in a multinational environment: Finance Operations processes (i.e. Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Record-to-Report), Financial Planning & Analysis, Reporting and Analytics, Global Business Services, Finance Strategy and Digital Finance (incl. emerging technologies such as GenAI and ML)

You have a proactive, flexible and positive work attitude and you like to work on challenging and diverse projects

You possess excellent communication and presentation skills in English, Dutch is mandatory.

You are client-oriented and able to work in a multidisciplinary team
