To support the continued growth of Starbucks in the Netherlands, Starbucks by Alsea is recruiting a passionate Maintenance Technician who will ensure that our stores are always in top condition, allowing us to deliver the perfect coffee experience to our guests every day.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
As a Maintenance Technician, you will report to the Facility and Maintenance Manager and be responsible for the upkeep and repair of facilities, equipment, and installations across our company-owned stores in the Netherlands. You handle the small maintenance of our equipment and carry out various tasks as needed, in collaboration with the Facility and Maintenance Manager.
You will play a key role in ensuring our stores operate at their best by performing preventive and corrective maintenance, all while adhering to safety and brand standards. Your duties will include:
Multitasking & coordination
- Manage multiple maintenance requests across stores, and prioritize interventions according to urgency, business impact and operational criticality.
- Switch between hands‑on repairs and admin tasks.
- Work around customers and staff during store opening hours, without disrupting service.
- Organise and optimise daily schedules to accommodate planned maintenance and urgent corrective interventions.
- Coordinate on-site activities with contractors, including technical briefing, site access, work supervision and quality control.
- Complete safety checks, compliance documents and spare parts orders.
- Record completed work and improve maintenance processes.
- Report recurring issues and suggest improvements.
Plumbing
- Unclog and repair sinks, toilets, and floor drains.
- Repair/replace leaking taps, valves, and hoses under sinks and coffee equipment.
- Replace washers, cartridges, and small fittings.
Electrical
- Replace faulty light fixtures, switches, sockets, and LED tubes/spots.
- Diagnose and reset tripped breakers or RCDs.
- Handle small electrical repairs: wiring adjustments, new/fixed sockets, troubleshooting power loss.
General maintenance & hardware
- Carry out carpentry and hardware tasks.
- Handle drywall patching, surface finishing, and decorative installations.
- Assemble and calibrate furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
- Maintain and troubleshoot specialised equipment.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’d love to hear from candidates who have:
- A technical qualification (MBO level 3/4 in electrotechnics, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or similar).
- At least 3 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a multi-site environment such as hospitality, retail, or hotels.
- A valid driver’s license (category B) and willingness to travel across the Netherlands.
- Ideally based in or within reasonable commuting distance of the Randstad area, the Netherlands.
Other required skills and qualities
- Experience in carpentry, plumbing, painting, and electromechanical expertise.
- Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with a proactive attitude.
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
- Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently when required.
- Clear and effective communication skills in Dutch and English, both written and verbal.
- Flexibility to adapt to business needs and occasional maintenance requirements outside standard working hours.
