Job summary

Centre People Appointments seeks a Maintenance Technician for a luxury hotel in Amsterdam. You will support the Engineering Department with preventive maintenance, repairs and responses to guest and operational issues.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute the hotel’s preventive maintenance plan across guest rooms, meeting rooms, and public areas
• Respond promptly to guest-related technical issues and coordinate with relevant departments
• Perform general repair and maintenance tasks (woodwork, tiles, ceilings, grouting, locks, sanitary fixtures)
• Guide and train Engineering team members to develop skills
• Manage inventory of tools and spare parts
• Act as main contact for internal and external stakeholders during projects
• Coordinate with external contractors for maintenance and project work
• Participate in Engineering meetings and training activities
• Support first aid and elevator safety responsibilities and trainings
• Back up Chief Engineer during absences and maintain records using systems like HotSOS

Hotel Engineering / Preventive Maintenance / Team Support

A high-end Japanese hotel in Amsterdam is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to join its Engineering Department.

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for helping maintain the hotel’s property, facilities, and equipment to a high standard. The role includes preventive maintenance, general repairs, responding to technical issues affecting guests and hotel operations, and supporting the preparation and coordination of technical projects.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on building or facilities maintenance experience, strong practical problem-solving skills, and the ability to work closely with colleagues across the hotel. Experience guiding or supporting less experienced team members would also be an advantage.

Main Responsibilities

• Manage and carry out the hotel’s preventive maintenance plan, with particular focus on guest rooms, meeting rooms and public area
• Respond promptly to guest-related technical issues and coordinate with relevant hotel department
• Carry out general repair and maintenance work including woodwork, tiles, ceilings, grouting, locks and sanitary equipmen
• Guide and train new and existing Engineering team members to develop their technical skill
• Manage the inventory of tools and spare part
• Act as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders during technical project
• Liaise with external contractors and coordinate outsourced maintenance and project wor
• Participate in Engineering briefings, team meetings and training activitie
• Support first aid and elevator safety responsibilities, including required training and annual refresher course
• Support the Chief Engineer and take on additional responsibilities during their absenc
• Maintain accurate records and use operational systems such as HotSOS for issue reporting and maintenance managemen
