Job summary

SILICON in Wateringen, Netherlands, is seeking an assembly employee to assemble RAW welding equipment and contribute to improving assembly processes. You will inspect for defects and ensure equipment functions 100% on world-wide jobsites.

You will read technical drawings, maintain equipment, and document actions. The role includes a strong focus on quality, attention to detail, and responsibilities in a multicultural environment with extensive onboarding and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• MBO level technical education is preferred.
• Experience with production and/or assembly work.
• Good command of English language is required.
• Strong sense of responsibility, eye for detail and focus on quality.
• Ability to read technical drawings and assembly instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assemble welding equipment, guns and cables from parts and sub-assemblies.
• Maintain equipment by performing maintenance and repairs; troubleshoot malfunctions.
• Read and follow technical drawings and assembly instructions; document actions.
• Ensure equipment quality and keep the work area clean and safe.

As a metal fabrication company founded in 1982, SILICON has since developed into an international product leader in refractory stainless-steel fastening and anchoring systems and of highly specialized welding machines as well. With roughly 90 employees, SILICON designs, produces and innovates high quality products and services for the petrochemical, chemical, kiln construction and shipbuilding industrySILICON Rapid Arc Welding B.V is part of SILICON Holding and is specialized in design, development and manufacturing of specialised welding machines. The welding technology is a unique technique, we call Rapid Arc Welding (RAW). A method whereby fasteners are welded to a steel casing in a fraction of a second.

SILICON is looking for an assembly employee who wants to develop himself in the welding services industry. In this department you will assemble the RAW welding equipment which will then be used on the installation jobsites all over the world!.

Tasks & Responsibilities

Besides assembling the equipment, you will also contribute to improving the work and/or assembly processes. You will also check the equipment for any defects and solve these problems. So you as an assembly worker ensure that the equipment functions 100%.

Other activities will be:

• Producing welding machines, guns and cables by assembling parts and sub-assemblies
• Keeping the equipment operational by completing maintenance requirements, troubleshooting malfunctions, and performing repairs
• Reading and reviewing technical drawings and assembly instructions
• Documenting actions by completing production and quality forms
• Ensure the quality of the equipement and machines
• Keeping a clean and tidy working area

Job Requirements:

• Completed an MBO level, preferably from a technical education
• Experience with production and/or assembly work
• Highly communicative and a good command of English language
• a strong sense of responsibility, an eye for detail and a focus on quality
• A VCA and forklift certificate or willing to get these
• You are able to read technical drawings and assembly instructions
