Job summary

PUM seeks a Programme Manager Livestock to lead the animal husbandry programme, translate client needs into proposals, and align activities with organisational goals. You will collaborate with in-country teams to match clients with skilled experts and drive sustainable impact across value chains.

Fluency in Dutch and English is required; 10 years in animal husbandry with a strong Netherlands network is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree (level) in relevant field.
• 10 years of experience and knowledge in animal husbandry with a Netherlands network.
• Experience in programme management and team leadership; volunteering experience is a plus.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; French or Spanish is an advantage.
• Available for 37.5 hours per week (1 FTE).

Responsibilities

• Manage PUM's animal husbandry programme and translate client requests into clear project proposals.
• Ensure strong matching between client needs and expert skills with in-country managers.
• Develop programme plans aligned with organisational goals and partnerships.
• Build a diverse expert community and deliver lasting impact.
• Identify and secure funding opportunities from institutional donors, foundations, and partners.
• Monitor programme developments, anticipate demand, and position experts accordingly.
• Promote diversity and an inclusive expert community.
• Coordinate programme data and share insights across projects.
• Map strategic partnerships and ensure compliance with policies.
