Job summary

ING Netherlands is offering a Talent, Learning & Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (DIB) Internship within the Dutch Centre of Expertise for Talent, Learning & DIB. You will contribute to attracting, developing and empowering talent across ING Netherlands, with two tracks: DIB Internship and Learning & Leadership Internship.

You will support strategy, community engagement, data insights, events and the Unknown Talent Programme, while coordinating learning initiatives and collaborating with HR

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HR, Psychology, Business or related field.
  • Strong communication in English and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive, organized and eager to learn.
  • Comfortable working with data and digital tools (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Available for a minimum of 6 months.
  • Must be enrolled at a Dutch university (or EU university with EU passport) for duration of internship.

About the role

As a Talent, Learning & Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (DIB) Intern, you will play an active role in strengthening ING’s ambition to be an inclusive, learning‑centred and people‑focused organisation. You will contribute to strategic and operational initiatives aimed at attracting, developing and empowering talent across ING Netherlands.

We offer two tracks/focus areas:

  • Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (DIB) Internship

You will mainly support the DIB strategy, community engagement, data insights, events, and the Unknown Talent Programme.

  • Learning & Leadership Internship

You will mainly support learning and leadership development initiatives, project coordination and strategic HR activities

Both tracks offer a unique opportunity to shape impactful programmes and gain hands‑on HR experience within a dynamic and international environment.

The Team

You will join the Dutch Centre of Expertise (CoE) for Talent, Learning & DIB. As a DIB Intern, you work closely with the Head of Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging. As a Learning & Leadership Intern, you collaborate with the Head of Growth & Careers and/or the Head of Talent Management, and the wider Talent, Learning & DIB community. You will be part of an innovative, informal and collaborative team that values curiosity, creativity and personal growth.

Roles and responsibilities

Your work will be a mix of strategic support and hands‑on coordination. Key responsibilities include:

  • Explore best practices in learning and leadership development. Analyze internal data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Data & Reporting: Help prepare impactful presentations and reports for senior leadership using data-driven insights.
  • Project Coordination: Support the planning and execution of learning programs, workshops, and leadership interventions.
  • Team Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with HR teams to ensure seamless delivery of initiatives. Bring your ideas to the table—we value fresh perspectives!
  • Event Support: Assist in organizing and facilitating training sessions, leadership events, and other learning experiences.
Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging Track
  • Data & Reporting: Help with the preparation of internal and external DIB reports and presentations for regulatory bodies, Senior Management, certifications, audits, and assessments.
  • Project Coordination: Support the planning and execution of evidence based, behavioral science informed DIB interventions
  • Inclusion in practice: support the delivery of ING’s Unknown Talent program
  • Event Support: Assist in organizing and facilitating sessions and events for ING’s Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)
Learning & Leadership Track
  • Research & Insights
  • Explore trends in learning, development, talent management or leadership.

  • Prepare compelling data‑driven presentations and reports for senior leadership.

  • Assist with the planning and delivery of learning programmes, workshops and leadership interventions.

  • Bring fresh ideas and creative perspectives to the table.
  • Event Support
  • Organise and facilitate leadership events, training sessions and learning experiences.

  • You’re currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HR, Psychology, Business, or a related field
  • You have a strong interest in learning and leadership development.
  • You’re proactive, organized, and eager to learn
  • You have strong communication (English) and interpersonal skills
  • You’re comfortable working with data and digital tools (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • You’re accurate and organized with an eye for detail
  • You work well independently and as part of a team.
  • You are available for a minimum of 6 months
You must be enrolled at a Dutch university (or an EU university if you hold an EU passport) for the duration of the internship.
