Job summary

European Space Agency, in Noordwijk, seeks a Lead System Engineer for Copernicus CRISTAL and Sentinel-3 Next Generation Topography missions. The role covers phases D/E1 of CRISTAL and B2/C/D/E1 of S3 NGT, reporting to System Managers and coordinating with OPS and Ground Segments.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in engineering and 4 years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience in mission and spacecraft systems in a multi-institutional environment.
• Knowledge of all phases of space system development lifecycle including satellite systems, ground segment architecture and launch segment.
• Experience in flight operations and/or ground segment and Phase E1 operations, including LEOP, in-orbit commissioning and in-flight performance verification.
• Experience in requirements engineering and analytical verification, as well as technical budget definition and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Lead system engineering for CRISTAL and Sentinel-3 NGT altimetry missions.
• Coordinate with Flight Operations Segment and Ground Segment to ensure proper coordination.
• Interface with satellite prime contractor and external partners for operations preparation and verification.
• Assist in Phase E1 commissioning, cal/val planning and execution.
• Provide regular reporting on system-related aspects to management and project reviews.
