Job summary

Ockto, Naarden-based, is seeking a Backend Engineer to develop and evolve its cloud-native SaaS platform for secure data sharing. You will work with TypeScript and .NET in a public-cloud environment, solving meaningful technical challenges and owning delivery from idea to deployment.

You will join a team that values autonomy, continuous learning, and high-quality software, with hybrid work options and a focus on handling sensitive data responsibly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Several years of TypeScript backend experience.
• Hands-on AWS and Serverless experience.
• Strong knowledge of software design patterns and security.
• Proven Kanban or similar agile experience.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Based in the Netherlands with hybrid work option.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evolve the cloud-native SaaS platform behind our secure data-sharing services.
• Contribute to decisions shaping our platform while solving meaningful technical challenges.
• Collaborate with colleagues from different disciplines and take ownership from idea through delivery.
• Identify bottlenecks, rectify bugs and enhance application performance.

The Role: Backend Engineer

As a Backend Engineer at Ockto, you’ll help develop and evolve the cloud-native SaaS platform behind our secure data‑sharing services.

Working with TypeScript and .NET in a public-cloud environment, you’ll solve meaningful technical challenges and contribute to decisions that shape our platform. You’ll collaborate with colleagues from different disciplines while taking ownership of your work from idea through delivery.

What are we looking for?

• A relevant bachelor’s degree.
• Multiple years experience as a TypeScript backend engineer.
• Extensive experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), particularly in Serverless methodologies.
• An excellent understanding of architecting principles and software design patterns.
• An excellent understanding of data- and software security.
• Demonstrably strong results in a Kanban‑like working environment.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and initiative.
• Great communication skills.
• Already living in the Netherlands (hybrid role)

Will be a plus

• A relevant master’s degree.
• Expertise in the financial services domain
